Welcome to Jamrock-reality!
Damian ‘Junior Gong’ Marley has shrugged off criticism that his latest single, Welcome To Jamrock, gives a false and unflattering image of Jamaica, arguing that the recording was inspired by what he saw happening here.
Welcome to Jamrock is reality!

The fact of the matter is Jamaica is rough all the things that he sings about is real he didn’t lie he didn’t paint a picture that is not there. With crime and violence on the rise in Jamaica yes he is totally correct in his lyrics! If they want to criticize him for that let them, people will always be critics good or bad.
I say big up to the man he did a great job!

I just left Jamaica. Went 3 times this year. The song depicts exactly the shape the country is in and how the lower class locals live. His song speaks the truth. Just like the rap music in the US. Some people are offended by the truth.

I love ” Welcome Jamrock” I think the song is great , however, the video is horrid! I know that there is a problem with violence and poverty in JA but, he could have at least showed different parts of Jamaica. A lot of people have such a bad impression of our island; and Junior Marley needs to be aware that most of Jamaica’s income is tourism and image is important. These reggae artist need to be more responsible about how they present Jamaica to the world. Every country has poverty and crime, we don’t have to glorify it. Jamaica need tourism to survive stop frightening our patrons
